Knowing the seasons of Philippines before Visiting
73
It is wise to learn about the weather before you set off for any country around the world. Whether you are planning for pleasure or commission, the first you would do is to research about the condition of the weather. For those who have allergic to weather, you might need to prepare yourself by taking some medicine for the sake of prevention. And knowing the weather beforehand will help you able to prepare what are essential kits to bring with you. Unless you are staying for a couple of years, you won’t love to carry a big luggage with you.
The Republic of the Philippines has only two seasons. They are wet and dry seasons. Yearly the Philippines suffers from Typhoons. The types of typhoons are varied. Though I am not specialist at Weather, as far as my knowledge is concerned the typhoons happen to visit the country during months between July to October. I had survived one whole year without having umbrella in the Philippines in the year of 2007. Mmmm. But I had several times soaked in the rain when I go to school. But for the next three years, I decided to buy umbrella. I was able to survive one whole year without umbrella because the rain in Philippines does not rain unstopped unlike in Burma. In Burma due to the Monsoon weather, there are times when the rain keeps raining even one week long. However, there is no typhoon to call in Burma.
Except Baguio city and some other mountain provinces, you will expect hot weather all through the year in Philippines. They say as a joke that there are two seasons in the Philippines. They are hot season and hotter season. That is the reality. By the time I am writing this article, I am sweating though it is in the month of January whereas in the United States of America, classes are suspended due to the snow. If you are talking about the snow that could block the drive way in the Philippines right now, people will hardly believe you.
Starting from November up to June is dry. Although there can be rain in this period, basically it is dry. And in all the Major cities of the Philippines they have 24/7 electricity, so electric fans and Air-conditioners are available to reduce the heat of the day. Most of the transportations are also equipped with air-conditioners. The thing is that at least you will have a mean to reduce the heat of the weather.
So, know that in open air you won’t be able to wear jackets, suits and so on. Unless you are to attend a formal ceremony or meeting, feel free to wear T-Shirt and pajamas. Wearing slippers is also widely accepted in public places as malls, restaurants etc. Before you visit, make sure that you pack your sun protection clothing, ointment etc. Do not forget your hat to protect you from the heat of the sun. Do not forget sleepless shirt or T.shirt. Do not forget eyewear. Hope it will help you to prepare!
