As a beginner guitar player, sometimes it is so annoying when you do not know how to rightly tune your guitar. You feel that your guitar tuning does not quite sound right but if you don’t know how to tune it, I will be showing you different styles as well as helps to put your guitar in tune.
You do not blame on yourself if you can’t tune your guitar right at the beginning of your practice. This practice has to come along with your ear hearing, I mean in order to be able to tune without any tool help.
First Tuning Method
This is suggested for those who are master at violin or any other string instrument. I said this because those who are master at string instruments are familiar already with modulator. So this is the method. Remember in Guitar there are six strings. These are open strings position.
6th string--------------------E
5th string--------------------A
4th String------------------- D
3rd string------------------- G
2nd string------------------ B
1st string------------------- E
Look at this figure; you will notice that the no.1st and 6th string got the same key which is E Major.
Here is the video illustration, follow the the key in order as below. Nothing comes easily in terms of musicianship. Here in this musicianship, the theory of " practice makes perfect" is best applied. When you become familiar with the Keys you will be able to tune even without the help of any tool. Never get shy to start from the basic. Remember basic is the foundation of all.

Second Method: Using Master Pipe tuner
If you are using this Master key tuner, you what you all got to do is all blow the pitch that you would like to. Look at the photo. There are different keys on the round master key. Suppose, you will start tuning from the bottom of your Guitar string which the 1st string open E Major. so choose the Major E hole on the Master Key pitch and tune your guitar following the sound that comes out of the master key. For the second string B, blow the pitch hole B on your master key. And do the same as you did for the first string. and So are the rest of the string until the 6th E Major. This is good for every beginner guitar player by just buying a master key pitch, you can easily make it possible by your own at home.
You can easily memorize the Major Keys on your open string Guitar in this way!
Eddy ----------- E Major 6th
Ate ----------- A Major 5th
Dynamite ---------- D Major 4th
Good ----------- G Major 3rd
Boy ----------- B Major 2nd
Eddy ----------- E Major 1st
Third Method: Pentonic Major Harmonic scale tuning style
This look like a more professional one. Yet is still easy if you already got a little bit experience of guitar. However, the disadvantage is that you might not get as sound as the master key pitch unless you will use a tool such as piano or your ear hearing of master key for the first open string E to base for the rest of strings tuning.
But in this case if you would like to make sure whether you are in master standard key or not, you may just set your 6th open string in tune with the E Major key on the piano or on master key pitch pipe.
( E A D G B E = 6 5 4 3 2 1)

String5th-fret5 = String4th free

The Fourth Method: Tuning a guitar on Piano
This is one also quite easy, if you got a piano nearby. And the advantage of this method is that you will be able to tune your guitar with a standard master key provided that your piano is in tune.
