A visit to Wild Life Center
74Wildlife Center Entrance
Location
To visit Wildlife Center has been on my mind since 3 years ago. But I never did it happen until I just made it recently. It was such a fantastic experience to visit the entire garden in the angry sunny summer day of the Philippines. I was first introduced to wildlife particularly on endangered species by my older brother who did his master of science in zoology. I was forced to make a research about wildlife per his request. At least though not my subject I was able to give him a sort of help in his thesis by browsing a quite good number of websites. Perhaps It was then made alive in my conscience that I was at once attracted to Wildlife center as I bypassed the nearby North Ave road on the Bus on my way going to Payatas Where I have been ministering for more than 3 years now. So it was the start how I happen to visit this wildlife center. Below is the exact location browsed on Google Map.
Wildlife Center
Wildlife Center QC - This is the address: NAPWC Lagoon, Quezon City, Philippines
How To Get there
If you are driving, just head straight to Lung Center of the Philippines, or Quezon City Memorial Circle. The Wildlife center which is also known as Ninoy Aquino Park is located across from Philippines Lung center in Quezon Ave Road. The best advisable for you is take the road from North Ave or if you are coming from East Ave and Quiapo, just the elliptical road round Quezon Memorial Circle. That is the best for you as private vehicle since the wildlife center entrance is found on the right side of the road in Quezon Ave.
For you commuters, you can reach the Center's Entrance via taking Jeeps from SM North with sign City Hall and get off at Lung Center. if you are riding coming from Quiapo side, take FX or, Bus or Jeeps with signs SM Fairview and get off at Wildlife center. From the bus Stop at Wildlife across from where you stand is the Place. If you are taking a bus or jeepney from Fairview side, ride until you reach Quezon City Circle and get off at Lung Center. You just need to walk 3 minutes from your Bus Stop.
Entrance Fees
I think it is unless free entry, the cheapest and most affordable park in Manila that I have ever visited. It is only 8 pesos per head. if you are a student and present your valid ID, you can get a pass with 5 pesos. This is not only where you can study about the wildlife but it is also a park. Therefore the center name is called both Ninoy Aquino, assassinated senator, and Wildlife Center. As a park, you will find huts, tables with benches under the trees. As a wildlife center you will find animals, birds and so on.
Why Should You Visit
I believe everyone would like to expect and find interesting things every time he/she plan to visit any where in the world. Wildlife center would be the best for those who are interested in natures, meditation and of course for those are interested in wildlife.
Therefore I should say this is the best place to visit and see for Science Students: Biologist, Zoologist and Botanist. The chances are that every tree you find in the park are sticked with their names both common and scientific names. I for one, find it very helpful since there are trees which are very familiar in Burma yet I have a hard time to call it by name. For instance, Narra, Narra tree is very significant in Burma because on the New Year occasion, the most awaited nature is the blooming flower of Narra. However there are two types of Narra that has flower and the one that has none. So Narra is expected to bloom its flower during the New Year celebration in the Month of April.
For Zoologist, it would be very helpful to visit the park as well. Although wildlife center is not equal to the Zoo, you can still find a lot of animals. There are variety of birds to see. The only thing is that the park is still under development and hopefully more species will be added in the park soon.
And for those who are not interested in any plants or wildlife, but want to kill your time, it is still a nice place. There are seats under the shade of big trees. Toilets and water are sufficiently available. The place is quite and private. I assure that you would find it peaceful even just stay and relax yourself in the Park.
