Whether you are a tourist or Metro Manila dweller, you need to know the interesting side of a place before you visit. So is this article to give you a hint about the Quezon City Circle so that you may be able to set your time to visit by marking on your calender during your visit to Quezon city or week end holidays.
As of now the Circle park is being developed with the Administration of Quezon city Mayor Herbert. I personally witness the fast improvement of the structure of the park extensively. More restaurants, fitness park, amusement park etc are being set up. Now, with a newly created two underpasses in the East and South make visitors easily reach inside the park. Before, you had to climb up the overpass to get to the park. But now reaching at the park has been made easy effort.
Recently, I visited the park and saw a signboard as I bypassed. It captivated both my eyes and heart. The Sign says that the park is aimed at becoming a world class park as well as amusement place for those who are under-privileged. I believe this a very impressive vision of the park. Generally, to visit a park you need to pay entrance fees whether big or small. But Quezon City Circle park is totally free of charge. I am only afraid if more restaurants and modern facilities of amusements are being put, the targeted under-privileged will no longer find it at home. Hope.. it won't. Though you may find some more interesting stuffs if you happen to be there but he followings are the most four reasons to visit the Park.
It is a Historic Place
It is a historic place because the remains of the of Manuel L.Quezon, the second President of the Philippines and his wife, first Lady Aurora Quezon. So it is now also called Quezon memorial circle in short (QMC).It was first intended to house the congress of the Philippines. The monument three pylons has its significance by representing the Luzon, Visayas and Midanao regions of the philippines. According to the source, the construction of the Quezon Memorial was begun in 950s but only completed in 1978.
If you love to read and know about world history, Quezon memorial park is the right place for you. Interestingly, there is a world peace bell hanged inside the bell's house lining up with various national flags from different countries. When I found it, I was deeply attracted to the site. The only sad thing is that I was looking for my own national flag but I couldn't find it. Thinking that the flag colors are faded so that I could no longer recognize, I repeated to look from the start but no result.
And the next interesting historic thing in the park is the Quezon memorial museum. The museum is open daily from 9 am - 4 pm. It is an interesting thing to observe for those who treasure historic stuffs.
Food Trip
Food is one of the most craved things in the world. Although I do not usually enjoying eating out, food trip or whatever you may call it, food, depending on the types, is good for nutrition. But some love eating out as they hang out with friends. And one more thing that I observe people in the Philippines is that they love to eat out. As Burmese people love to drink tea at tea shops. In Myanmar, tea shop can be seen at every corner of the street even in towns in rural areas. They love to drink tea as much as they will fast a meal for them to save money to buy tea in the morning.
I, for one, don't feel comfortable at eating out. But I love to dine at good and standard restaurants if I could afford. So Quezon memorial circle is no exception if you plan to eat out with friends. There are prestigious fast food restaurants such as Max, Mang Inasal, Jolibee etc. Since the circle is surrounded by elliptical road you can easily drive through and dine with a lot of fun.
Sports and Games
The Quezon Memorial Circle provides a very convenient runnex for runner. The streets are clean and nicely paved so that a runner can easily run around. There are also basket ball ground, Badminton, volley Ball, and variety of Dancing clubs. If you love sports, this is the place where you can motivate yourself to do both excursion and body exercises.
Even if you are not interested in sportsmanship, just walking around will truly help you develop your body fit. Roam around and feed your eyes by glancing on those who take exercises.
I also witnessed a group of student practicing their dancing project for their school. I was impressed by how wisely they utilize the public park. I was stunned at how they practiced and brought all those complete instruments such drums, xylophone, other stuffs.
Amusement Park
See the above photo, you will be amazed at finding the lost Pharaoh in the Park.:D You must see this one if you will visit the park in Quezon Memorial Circle. I am not going to tell you what is inside so that you will get excited to find out what is inside the cave. But to visit this cave, there is an entrance fees. In that amusement Park there are a lot more funs besides the lost Pharaoh's cave.
There is also circle of Joy for Kids to utilize the facilities for free. There is no entrance fees at all. And once your kids are inside, Quezon City management personnels will watch over the kids. They are there to take care of your kids so that no accidental incident will occur. While you kids are in the park, you can freely do your exercises. What a Fun!
